Mentawai is the name of an archipelago situated ± 150 km in the Indian Ocean island group consisting of the main island of Siberut, Sipora, North Pagai Islands, and South Pagai Islands (each having small islands) is inhabited by tribal communities in the Mentawai off coast of West Sumatra, as well as the name of the district.
