Early data indicate the space shuttle Atlantis ready to be launched on Friday, escaped damage by two lightning strikes on Thursday afternoon, NASA said.
The bolt of a violent storm struck a tower of 515 meters from the keyboard, the second hit the nearby beach, the space agency said in a statement.
Currently, the launch time of 11:26 on Friday, is unchanged, although 30% chance of favorable weather, according to NASA.
